“Catalina Island Live-Forever”
Growing on rocks and cliffs on Catalina Island, Dudleya hassei makes an attractive small scale groundcover in gardens. The narrow leaves create a 6” tall rosette that has some resemblance to a sea anemone and eventually spreads to 1-2’ wide. The grey chalky leaves get attractive pink tips when grown with low water and in full sun. D. hassei flowers in the Spring with 1’ tall stems and clusters of white flowers with yellow centers, popular with hummingbirds. Makes a great container plant!
