Layia gaillardioides“Woodland Tidytips”

Woodland tidytips is a lovely annual wildflower for sunny, as well partly-shaded gardens. Growing to 1-2' tall, it smothers itself with a myriad a bright yellow flowers resembling miniature Gaillardias (“Blanket Flower”). It is very popular with butterflies & native bees & was a definite winner in our new plant trials last year. It reseeds nicely, too. Native to the California coastline (including Contra Costa County) & the Coast Mountain Ranges.
