Ajuga genevensis
“Carpet Bugle”

Ajuga genevensis “Blue Bugleweed”

Deep true gentian blue spikes 6-12” tall appear all Summer long on this well behaved densely matting groundcover. We love this hard to find dependable “Bugleweed” for its larger spikes and flowers & glossy, low, groundhugging foliage. Spreading to 2’ across, it’s not stoloniferous and therefore not invasive (like the more common Ajuga reptans), so you can use it for smaller areas & alongside pathways. Wonderful at the edge of a bed & in rock gardens as it does appreciate good drainage. Added plus – it thrives in both sun & bright shade. VERY COLD HARDY!
