(syn. Homeria elegans)
A very elegant species with a single glaucous leaf, arching to one foot, topped in March & April with six petalled yellow flowers. The round-edged petals are variably marked, all in shades of yellow with symmetrical markings of phthalo green & sunny orange. As a winter growing bulb, it’s best in frost free areas that get winter rain & summer drought. Perfect here in the Bay Area eh? Good drainage is important!
