Xanthisma texana "Sleepy Daisy"
Okay - NOW THIS IS ONE OF THOSE PLANTS - that everyone begs for once it’s blooming in our gardens, but no one ever notices or buys in its pre-bloom state, so just buy it! You’ll love it! A guaranteed mass of the cheeriest lemon yellow starry flowers (1.5”-2” across) on a ferny, bushy, spreading mound 3’ tall & 3’ wide. It blooms for months in Summer through Fall, especially if dead-headed. A native of Texas, it’s probably heat & drought tolerant, but I wouldn’t know as our temperatures are mild, & I always plant it in rich soil & water it regularly. Super showy combined with Convolvulus tricolor ‘Blue Ensign’, & perennial Petunia integrifolia.
