Scabiosa anthemifolia

Scabiosa anthemifolia

A South African Scabiosa that blooms continuously Spring through Fall, & the light blue flowers on 1’ stems are very attractive to butterflies. The habit is low & spreading & the stems that touch the soil will root. However, the widening of the clump is slow and easy to control if not desired. After some years it may look empty in the center & very vigorous on the edges, but you can create center growth & keep it compact by cutting back hard in Fall.
