Sunset Western Garden Book lists this Gentian as the only one that’s EASY to grow here in the West. Reaching 8” - 16” tall & 10” spread, “Cross Gentian” sends up leafy stalks topped by 1”, deep blue flowers, Summer thru Fall. The leaves are thick & glossy & 4” to 8” long. Gentians need rich soil & good drainage & really dislike hot Summer sun. So if you live in our hotter areas, do place it in light shade.
