Phacelia bolanderi

A very tough perennial Phacelia found growing in Douglas Fir & Redwood forests in Northern California & Oregon. It blooms in early Summer with dime-sized pale lavender flowers on 18” stems, & with additional water it can bloom for a long time. It also does just fine in dry shade (good under oaks). The leaves are toothed & grow in a 6” mound that can spread to 2-3'. It is a short-lived perennial but self sows gently. The flowers attract hummingbirds, & the seeds are much enjoyed by songbirds.
