| Salvia verticillata
“Meadow Sage”

Pretty, easy, & low maintenance, Salvia verticillata
is a hardy perennial sage with much appeal. From 2-3’
tall, & spreading to 3’ wide with time, it’s
smothered for most of the summer months with long lasting
spikes of very purple flowers held in whorls on long dark
stems. Adapting to many garden settings & soils, it is
easy to understand why this handsome plant is so widely used.
A butterfly & hummingbird feast, & the flowers make
good cut material as well. Cut to the ground when bloom is
finished & dress with compost once a year. This species
is widespread throughout Europe & Western Asia.
