“Shooting Stars”
This delightful native wildflower of the American prairies & East
rates a 10+ in the perfectly beautiful department! Enchanting, rocket
shaped flowers of pink to magenta with yellow & brown, pointy centers
are held in umbels (up to 15 at a time) atop strong, upright stems (to
27”) mid to late Spring. The fresh green, oval leaves form a clumping
rosette that goes dormant in Summer. A reliable perennial, “Shooting
Stars” is not hard to grow. Though not fussy about soil, it does
prefer rich & moist for best show. Perfect under a deciduous tree
or naturalized in a woodland environment.
