Penstemon tenuis

An EASY to grow blue Penstemon! What could be better? Well, how about a graceful habit and so many flowers, the branching stems appear as a haze of glowing color. Growing to 2' tall, this rare and unusual Penstemon comes to us from the Southeastern U.S. (not noted for their Penstemons) and so does not require the perfectly sharp drainage of high elevation rocky scree so common with blue Penstemons. The flowers borne in profusion are blue with a hint of lavender and on this Penstemon, the combination is delicious! Unlike most Penstemons this one likes shade or part shade. Quite different leafy leaves too.
