Impatiens sodenii 'Zanzibar'
To 4 tall, perennial & almost ever blooming, this rare variety of Impatiens oliveri comes to us from the amazing Mr. Impatiens Derick Pitman. Large (3 across) & lovely, lavender blushed blooms are sweetly decorated with magenta markings around the throat. Impatiens oliveri usually grows 3 to 4 tall, with strongly multi-branching, semi-succulent stems. It is frost tender (30 degrees F), so its best grown (as a perennial) in USDA zones 10-11 & will bounce back from the roots if frost damaged. Grow it in morning sun or bright shade in rich, composted soil. Pollinated by hummingbirds & moths. Self-sows!
