Fuchsia splendens

Fuchsia splendens

Originally from the cloud forests of Central America, this is an unusual looking Fuchsia. The flowers are peachy-pink with green petal tips. Flowers pretty much all year. It likes well-drained, compost-rich soil & resents high heat & drought. We are lucky that this great Fuchsia is mite resistant so no curled, ugly leaves. It is also reported that this Fuchsia has the tastiest of all the Fuchsia berries. Fuchsia berries in general are edible but many are bland. Fuchsia splendens has berries that are sweet & lemony & slightly peppery. Growing 3’-4’ tall & wide.
