Eriogonum grande burescens "Red Buckwheat"Eriogonum grande rubescens "Red Buckwheat"

“Got Clay?” This choice & hard to find native of the Channel Islands thrives on neglect & prefers dry, clay soil. The shortest, most delicate looking of the “Buckwheats,” it’s also evergreen, forming a nice, low, dense, 1’ x 3’ mound of spoon shaped leaves, green above & wooly below. From June - October, it bears deep pink clusters of flowers that are very attractive to butterflies. “Island Buckwheat” thrives in coastal conditions, rock walls, dry gardens & does not like much Summer water once established. Hardy to 15 degrees F.
