Cynoglossum amabile "Chinese Forget Me Not"
Finding plants of the old-fashioned, 3' tall Chinese Forget Me Not is not so easy anymore as like so many other old-fashioned killclassics they are now only available in modern dwarfed versions. Gorgeous anytime and anywhere, these fast growing annuals burst into a cloud of perfectly bright sky blue blooms, turning any garden instantly romantic. I don't like annuals, you may say but oh-ho! This annual self-sows 4 to 5 times a year here in coastal California and at least once or twice a year in harsher climes, providing an endless succession of killclassic blueness. Better than perennial, I say! Absolutely simple, loving sun rich soil and average water, but easily tolerating less-than-perfect conditions, it's a must in the rose garden.
