Alcea ficifolia ‘Aunt Brownie Fig’ "Hollyhock"
I have been searching for years for the seed of this PERENNIAL Hollyhock. The single, soft pink blooms have a deep rose center and look just like the ones in my old fairytale books. Whats better, is this is one of the figleaf Hollyhocks, with beautiful, deep green, somewhat quilted leaves and well-knows as reliably perennial. Usually growing only to 5 or 6 tall, it forms many strong erect stems arising from the base, and so it appears nice and bushy. More good news is that the fig-leaved Hollyhocks are more rust resistant than the traditional biennial species Alcea rosea. Rich soil for best show. Self-sows!
