A FALL WITHOUT MOVING!!

I can’t tell you what a dream its been to stay put on our property this Fall. No 30 day notice to move the nursery, no axe hanging over our heads. Just a normal Fall with normal Fallish activities –cleaning out the garden, collecting seeds, planting wildflowers and weeding, weeding, weeding. And time with my family during the holidays, yay!!
A most excellent benefit has been lots of free time to research new plants to grow. Really, the most time I’ve had since our youngest –Angelo- has turned 9 and doesn’t need mommy to play with him constantly. Wooh! Finding new seed is thrilling for me, and watching them germinate ( kudos to Anni Jensen –our propagator!) is always such a joy!

And so, 2003 will feature an EXPLOSION of new plants! Over 300 so far! There’s new poppies, lots of new California wildflowers , juicy new Sunflowers , gobs of new Aloes, Acacias, and Dowdeswell Delphiniums from New Zealand. We’ve seeded at least 11 new Penstemons, lots of new grasses, Salvias and Impatiens species to delight you!

As many of you know, some of these will only appear in limited numbers and so you’ll have to visit us regularly to nab ‘em. Too bad!

In the Meantime here's a sneek peek at some of our new offerings!!!

Ageratum corymbosum
Datura discolor
