So OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE you’re sure to be the ONLY gardener in the neighborhood growing it! When in bloom, the central leaves of the rosettes turn a luscious deep purple, highlighting chocolate-raspberry colored blooms. Grows best in rich, well-draining soil. Because of its extreme rarity, we have no concrete zone information for this plant - but we do know it has survived two unusually cold zone 9b winters quite happily with only a bit of frost cloth for protection through several weeks of overnight freezes.
